Arrows FC manager collects the Shs50m cash prize

Arrows FC were on Friday crowned the 2025 Hamz Cup football tournament champions after overcoming Kafumbe 1-0 in the final played at the Hamz Nakivubo stadium. The tournament that was played for nine months climaxed with a well-attended final played under floodlights.

The winners took home Shs50m cash prize and a bull courtesy of MTN Momo while Kafumbe won Shs25m cash prize.

“We want to thank Ham for this tournament. We have enjoyed ourselves playing at this international stadium but we also thank him for the huge prize money he put in. May God reward him,” noted a happy Danny Kingston, the Arrows FC team manager.

Kafumbe 1 won Shs25m as second placed side

Meanwhile, Pentagon beat Kafumbe 2 to finish third and take home Shs15m prize money while the fourth placed side had Shs10m.

The team with the greatest number of fans and the fair play award winners also took home Shs1m respectively while the most valuable player, top scorer and best goalkeeper took home Shs500,000 each.

“We have given entertainment to the business community and reignited their love for Ugandan football. Dr. Hamis Kiggundu has inspired many other businessmen to invest in football. We want to thank him for his philanthropy. As an individual, he has invested over Shs100m in the tournament. This is why we need to always support him and we protect such gains,” noted Rogers Mulindwa, the Hamz Nakivubo stadium board chairman.

The Hamz cup tournament was initiated by HAMZ Group CEO Dr. Hamis Kiggundu to unite Kampala city traders and also promote untapped talent.

Best Goal keeper – Bashir Ssenyonga (Pentagon)

Top scorer – Ali Ssentongo (Vienna Arcade)

Best coach – Felix Sekabuza (Pentagon)

Team with most fans – Boda Union SC

Most valubale player – Mike Kayongo (Kafumbe 1)
