The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) is undertaking the design and development of a comprehensive Football Player Development Curriculum aimed at strengthening structured, long-term player development across all levels of the game in Uganda.

In line with FUFA’s commitment to inclusivity, evidence-based practice, and sustainable football development, FUFA invites contributions from key stakeholders to inform the content, structure, and implementation of this national curriculum.
FUFA Football Development Director Bashir Mutyaba says that FUFA is committed to evidence-based curriculum.
Meanwhile, FUFA has opened up for applications from eligible Secondary Schools to be accredited as FUFA Schools of Excellence for the year 2026. The Schools of Excellence programme forms part of the FUFA Technical Master Plan and is aimed at identifying, nurturing and developing elite football talent within schools across Uganda while supporting academic education.

In the same way, FUFA extended the deadline for football academy registration to 13thFebruary 2026, as part of efforts to professionalize youth football development in Uganda.
Committed to enhancing youth football development in Uganda through this initiative, FUFA is encouraging all stakeholder to submit required documents online with academies that pass inspection set to be recommended to the National Council of Sports for licensing as per the Sports Act.
The application deadline is set for 13th February, inspection of academies on 14th February while FUFA Certificate issuance to academies will be on 13th March 2026.
