The Hoima City Stadium is set to be officially opened by president Museveni on 24th, December, 2025.
This website can confim that two premier league sides Kitara FC and KCCA FC have been confirmed to play in their first ever football fixture at the newly constructed stadium.
The entrance will be free and on a first come first serve basis.
The 20,000 seater stadium was built at USD129m (Shs 490.2 bn) as one of the venues for the Afcon 2027 that will be co-hosted by Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania.

The stadium also has a 2000 seater modern indoor arena, semi Olympic size swimming pool, a training pitch, 1000 plus car park, outdoor courts, offices, fully equipped gym among others.
According to Rogers Byamukama, a FUFA executive member, the Turkish contractors MS Suuma already asked FUFA to invite CAF and FIFA to come and certify the work so that they can finally hand over the project to the government.
Byamukama ruled out the possibility of CAF rejecting the stadium noting that Ms Suuma is a reputable company that has put right everything as was put in the contract.
He noted that after the stadium, the focus is going to be on constructing the training grounds that include Masindi stadium, Booma grounds in Hoima, sir Tito in Hoima which are very crucial.
Byamukama however asked people to continue investing in the hospitality sector saying they still have a gap in the region.
