DOSSIER: First Lady receives report about FUFA-Vipers stand off

The First Lady and also minister of education and sports Janet Kataha has received a report on the ongoing standoff between FUFA and Vipers SC, this website has exclusively learned.

According to sources, the brief was prepared by her reliable minister of state for sports Hon. Peter Ogwang before he left to watch Algeria play Uganda Cranes on Tuesday in their last world cup group stage qualifier.  

“Honorable Ogwang briefs the First Lady on every sports matter. He is proactive, reliable and trusted by his superior and appointing authority- the president,” a source told this website.  

According to reports that this website could not verify, Vipers wrote to the First lady in regard to their sentiments and the appointment is due before the end of this month.

Ogwang, on his social media ‘X’ handle, Ogwang, replying for former SC Villa CEO Ivan Kakembo’s calling him on the matter, said that they intend to handle the matter diplomatically.

“Boss, don’t drag me into your personal matters with FUFA. Allow us to sort UPL issues with diplomacy & decorum rather than blackmail,” he replied.

Vipers snubbed their scheduled opening fixture against Kitara after formally notifying FUFA in protest of the new league formally and changes.

FUFA is yet to formally communicate on the matter but in a statement, the federation advised stakeholders not to engage in acts that are against the regulations of football.

The statement says that the federation has learned of efforts of approaching players, coaches and referees promising huge sums of money to predetermine results and make public comments to discredit the competitions reports.
