National team golfer Joseph Cwinyaai stormed to victory in the gross amateurs category of the 2025 Absa Captain’s Bell tournament, finishing with a record total of 200 (-16) over three days at Entebbe Club.
Cwinyaai’s final round (6-under-par) cemented a historic win – breaking the previous national tournament record of -14 – and earning him the top amateur prize of UGX 6 million.
In the ladies division, Peace Kabasweka delivered a steady three-round performance to claim the title with a gross score of 234, securing top honors among the women.
The conclusion of the amateur and ladies rounds sets the stage for the professionals’ finale, as Uganda’s golf fraternity celebrates these standout achievements in the competition.
