Uganda is set to host the 2026 Pearl of Africa (POA) Golf Series at Entebbe Golf Club with over 130 golfers from Uganda, South Africa, Nigeria, Tanzania, Kenya expected to compete for a 20,000 USD prize kitty.

The four-day event gets underway tomorrow with a Pro-Am, before the main 54-hole championship tees off.
The cut comes on Friday with the winner set to walk away with 3000 US dollars.
This is a historic edition of Uganda’s Official World Golf Ranking event under the Sunshine Development.
On Tuesday, Entebbe international airport was filled with excitement as over 30 Sunshine Tour professionals arrived ahead of the series.
They were received by members of the organising committee and the Uganda Tourism Board.

Domestic pros led by the on-form Ronald Rugumayo, Abraham Ainamani, Rodell Gaita, Deo Akope, Marvin Kibirige and Grace Kasango will now face off against the best from the continent.
Rugumayo comes from Johnnie Walker Uganda golf Open and MTN Pro tee second leg triumph.
The Uganda Golf Union says it is partnering with UTB to use the tournament to promote Uganda as a sports tourism destination.
Beyond the fairways, players will also tour Uganda to experience the country’s attractions.
This year’s edition that tees off tomorrow will climax on Saturday at Entebbe golf club.
