South Sudan Governor graces Ateker Cup of nations action

The Governor of the Eastern Equatorial State in South Sudan Louis Lobong Lojore, has arrived in Soroti City to witness the semi-finals and finals of the second edition of the Ateker Cup of Nations tournament.

He joined crowds at Oligoi Stadium, where he witnessed the qualifying match between Uganda’s Kumi team and Kenya.

Representing the President of South Sudan, H.E. Salva Kiir Mayardit, Governor Lojore said the tournament is an important platform for promoting peace, unity and cooperation among the Ateker-speaking communities from Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia and South Sudan.

He urged leaders and communities across the Ateker region to embrace the tournament as an opportunity to strengthen their historical and cultural ties while promoting peaceful coexistence.

The Ateker Cup of Nations, which started with 48 teams from the four participating countries, has now entered the knockout stage.
