Uganda rugby has confirmed Rugby Cranes 7s squad for the 2026 Driftwood 7s in Mombasa, Kenya scheduled for 22nd – 23rd August 2026 at Mombasa Sports Club.
The team 13-man selected team is set to depart this Wednesday 19th 2026 and will compete in Pool B alongside top Kenyan Clubs including KCB Rugby, Blak Blad and Kisumu.
This tournament will help the team test and fine tune combinations in preparations for the upcoming events in September 2026 and in January 2027, according to Ramsey Olinga Chief Technical Officer, Uganda Rugby.
Head coach Allan Otim says that the team is in good shape bar a few niggles with some players.
“This tournament should be a good boost for our team, all the best to the players. We are giving them an opportunity to set themselves ready for the tournament in September, this is one of the tournaments we want to use to fine tune the team,” noted Otim.
The 2026 Driftwood 7s is the 4th Circuit of the 2026 Sportpesa National 7s Circuits scheduled for 22nd to 23rd August 2026 in Mombasa Kenya. Driftwood 7s 2026 is the 36th edition of the event.
